Adventures in Exandria Tal'Dorei Map
Welcome friends, join us as we step into the wondrous campaign setting known as the World of Exandria, the world created by Matthew Mercer and originally shaped by his crew of zany friends! The year is 825 PD, or Post-Divergence. While these adventures and campaigns will of course diverge from Critical Role's plot in order for our party to tell their own story, the core of our stories will align with Critical Role canon, with some slight changes of course. Vox Machina lived their lives on Tal'Dorei, the Mighty Nein's adventures contributed to the war, and now, at a critical moment in history, new heroes will meet by chance to write stories themselves.

Join us as we journey into a world of high fantasy where dragons are abound, where great kingdoms rise and fall and where heroes are made. Walk with us as we explore the unknown in search of great treasures, dangerous foes and legendary deeds.

This makes for an exciting time to be a brave adventurer where anything can happen. Watch us usher in a new and exciting era, full of possibilities for both good & evil.

Our stories are set throughout the world of Exandria but for now we find ourselves in the Tal'Dorei setting. In the centuries since the gods sealed themselves away from the Material Plane via the Divine Gate, sentient life has risen up to reclaim these rocky continents. Kingdoms have risen and fallen. Heroes have live and died. For more information about Exandria and the world of Critical Role, visit the Critical Role website, read The Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, and check out the official Tal'Dorei campaign setting. Neither the DM nor the party claim any rights to Exandria or her lore; indeed, we are grateful to the cast of Critical Role for being so generous with the world they have created. We greatly enjoy playing in it and look forward to whatever shenanigans come next.

Tales From Tal'Dorei
Our companions have spent the last two days traveling south from the settlement of Spinemoor, through the center of the Gladepools traveling to the settlement of Byroden. They have encountered no trouble so far, but this territory can be dangerous. Bandits and outlaws have been known to lurk along the road and ambush the unprepared.

As the companions travel further south, closer to Byroden - darkness begins to set in. The night air surges fierce and sweet, carrying the clear musk smell of the woodlands. The soft murmurs of stirring leaves, insects, and small animals of the night fill the landscape. The clear highland sky, full of stars, stretches out before them and seems to go on forever.

From this point along the road the region seems peaceful, untouched and beautiful but the companions know better. Dense forests of tall pines carpet the mountainsides, broken only by the thick aspen woods, the soft current of the river flows steady. The mountains, in the far distance, stretch across the land giving a nice backdrop to the fading sun as it drops behind the distant mountains. The travelers have been on the southern Trail for about half a day since they turned to follow the river south. The sun slowly drops behind the mountains, stirring the sounds of the night. With the upcoming winter months soon to arrive, the air has already started to chill. In the distance to the north, thunder can be heard breaking the silence of the night.

Our story, however, takes place along the southern reaches of the Gladepools in a small clearing at the base of a massive stone monument once dedicated to an order of monks, long since forgotten. Here in the southern reaches of Tal'Dorei, located just north of the region known as the Mornset Countryside, is where out story begins. In a sleepy campsite on the edge of the wild, a small collection of wandering destinies begin to come together . . .

« About Our Adventures »

Welcome everyone. I want to try and educated everyone on exactly what we will be doing in the Exandria setting. As most of you already are aware of, Exandrian as a Setting (Tal'dorei, Wildemount and Marquet) all have few to no actual official printed adventure modules.

What this does is it forces Dungeon Masters such as myself to have to do one of two things - homebrew or important existing adventure modules into this setting. We have chosen to import existing adventure modules for the most part but I am also sure we will do a little home brewing as well.

Our first imported adventure module in the Tal'Dorei setting will be Lost Mine of Phandelver. Wish us luck because I am sure this will be a challenge.

We are always looking for more like minded players and also Dungeon Masters that would like to play 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons that will be "dedicated" players & DMs. We have had a rough run here recently not being able to hold onto players due to real life issues. We are all brand spanking new to 5th edition as well as the World of Exandria so if you can tolerate mistakes being made while we learn then please give us a shout out.

« Old-School Essentials »

Old-School Essentials or OSE is an adventure roleplaying game of exploration, danger, monsters, and magic. The game is intentionally rules light, putting the focus of play on imagination, improvisation, and fun. Old School Essentials is a retroclone of the Basic & Expert D&D Rules by Tom Moldvay, published in 1981. These rules were a revision of Holmes Basic and intended to introduce D&D to new players. They were released in two boxed sets the Red 'Basic' set and the Blue 'Expert' set.

For our Old-School Essentials game system, we will be using Advanced Fantasy instead of Classic. The reasoning behind this is we will be adventuring through various AD&D adventures and the Advanced Fantasy system is better suited to handle the tougher monsters that Classic Fantasy is. We will have a list of our House Rules in the link above if you wish to see more on our modified Old-School Essentials system that we use.

Greetings everyone. I would like to extend a warm welcome to you. This blog will cover the Exandria campaign setting and its adventures. We will be using 1st edition/Unearthed Arcana rules as our core rules with 2nd edition used as various house rules added into our game.

This blog is in it's beginning stages and will take time before it can be fleshed out into something worth reading, but given time this place should be packed full of information concerning our Exandria campaign adventures.

Our adventure journals will also be posted here. All of our Twitch stream sessions (when we do stream our games) will be posted here as well. We hope you enjoy your stay and look forward to seeing you in the future.
